I recently arrived in Spain to seek employment as an English teacher and would particularly enjoy the opportunity to gain further experience of working in a professional environment in Barcelona.
Last September I completed a CELTA course - the Cambridge accredited certificate in English language teaching to adults - at International House London, having graduated earlier in the year with a BA degree in philosophy from the University of London. My teacher training involving regular classroom experience teaching adult English learners and prior to the course I've had voluntary experience developing a curriculum and teaching children with a range of first languages. I'm therefore happy to work with any age range and particularly enjoy the opportunity to engage creatively with young learners. I´m currently teaching voluntary English classes two evenings a week at a social centre in Barcelona but I´m able to adapt my schedule according to the requirements of any available positions, including part-time and substitute work.
I previously spent two months living and working in Palma de Mallorca before I began my studies and I´m used to working in a multi-lingual environment. I´m currently taking Catalan lessons and would also like to take the opportunity to develop my Spanish language skills now that I´m resident here.
